I finally have built and tested a FPV gimbal with DJI digital. I have not adopted DJI digital and have so far stuck with analog, for many reasons. However, it has become very prevalent in the FPV community and industry, so I have included support for it in my designs and am testing with it.
This is a T-Motor FT5 MKII V2 HD prebuilt I have created a gimbal design for and added a gimbal onto. I have chosen to reverse the drone and use the back as the front in order to not move the air unit, but the design includes support for normal orientation as well.
